New Deal for Communities (NDC) is a Government funded regeneration programme. There are 39 NDC partnerships in total across the country with the problems of each NDC area being unique. However all NDC's tackle five key themes:
Doncaster NDC has been allocated £52 million until 31st March 2011 to invest in the following five areas of Doncaster:
The underlying strength of the scheme is that it has been shaped by community views and aspirations and is being delivered in partnership with key agencies.
Doncaster Central Development Trust
In April 2008, Doncaster NDC established Doncaster Central Development Trust (CIC), to maintain and advance the work carried out by NDC after government funding runs out in 2011. The Development Trust, known as DCDT will initially be managed by seven directors, all of whom have been heavily involved in NDC and more importantly, all of whom are local residents living in our areas. DCDT will give both longevity and sustainability to our work and has formally taken the reins. Chaired by resident volunteer John Giddins, DCDT will soon be joined by a further seven nominated directors from our NDC agency partners.
